Here, There, and Beyond, found book page & postcard
This week has been written off in a blur of virus, bug things, it's not that often I get laid out with illness - hhhmmmm. The blog feels a little like it's gathering dust as preparation for ArtLacuna and our pre-launch night tomorrow (hope you're coming!) is taking over. My aim is to be a little more present on the blog ....
But above is a glimpse into some ideas I've been working on prior to illness and halfterm kicking in. I've been revisiting my love of collage and playing with some new ideas since finishing the MA to do with erasure.... I enjoyed visiting the Kurt Schwitters show week before last and would love to go again.
In the mean time I leave you with some places I wish to go when better and some other links you might like to peruse:
and looking forward to reading this book: The Paradoxical Object: Video Film Sculpture
Thank you to those who have supported our ArtLacuna online funding campaign, we are getting there bit by bit and if you would like a collage (from me) I would love to make you one :) And also our limited edition badges have arrived and we are packaging them up!
Please send me getting well wishes, I would like to be better soon.

I am a real schwitters fan....saw his work last year in regents park. I was overwhelmed by it. Get better soon......iPad is not putting capitals in today.
ReplyDeleteGood luck
Sue x
seeing Schwitters' work in the flesh is a whole other experience (as we normally see them in reproduction!) That's why I need to go again. Very inspiring. Hope you get your caps back :) A.x
DeleteWhat a bummer!! Hope you feel better soon...I've been dealing with sciatica for weeks and weeks now, so i know how you feel about not being able to get art work done, blog posts written and out into the world again!!
ReplyDeleteRest and feel better!!!
oh my sciatica is NOT nice. I hope you feel better too soon and that it goes away! Day by day, bit by bit... Art will help :) And thanks for your well wishes x
DeleteMy every sympathy Amelia, It's taken a couple weeks for me to feel better after getting the cough that's going round, I do hope it doesn't take you that long. As always your post is full of interest. I was particularly struck by the Rosemarie Trockel link.
ReplyDeleteGet well soon x
Sorry to hear you have been feeling poorly, sending you lots of healing energy and hope you are restored back to full health very soon x There are alot of tenacious bugs around at the moment, I'm just getting over a bad cold which has been loitering around for 3 weeks.
ReplyDeleteGreat links - particularly liked the look of mutantspace, will go back and check that out again.
Wishing you all the very best with the pre-launch night tomorrow and I hope you are well enough to enjoy it. x
Oh poor you, yes a few people have got it and now is not a good time for me - although is there ever a good time - as we know the best cure is art and I really have been doing loads - which feels great. V different to the MA work too. Yes, the Rosemarie Trockel show should be interesting...lots of lemon and ginger all round :) x
ReplyDeleteCatching up on your doings Amelia and it looks like you have a LOT of creativity buzzing around you! Loved the quote on collage in your last post - that's going in my quote collection!
ReplyDeletethank you Monica, hope you are well too :)
